Frost Mountain Yurts ~ A new adventure in lodging ~ Open Year Round ~ our eco-friendly and
pet-friendly yurts cater to families, couples and small groups who are looking for accessible outdoor fun. FMY invites you to an enjoyable
excursion into the back woods of western Maine on our private 60 acres and surrounded by wooded land. FMY is located just south of the
village of Fryeburg and minutes away from all the Mount Washington Valley amenities. All four yurts
are nestled in their own private setting. Staying in the yurt is your accommodations and entertainment all in one. Once you settle in,
you don't need to get into your car again as we have our own private network of hiking and XC ski and snowshoe trails that leave right
from the yurts. Great sledding in the field through the apple trees as well! We are also directly connected to the international snowmobile
trail network that is open to skiers and trekkers for longer loops. Or just kick back and relax, unwind and do nothing—we never take
time for that and this is the perfect place! Looking for more adventure? Outside the yurt you can follow the snowmobile trail that leads to
the summit of Frost Mountain with stunning views of Mt Washington, the presidential range and the beautiful
valleys of the Maine and New Hampshire border. Just down the street is the beautiful and quaint Lovewell Pond with a public
boat launch and is a popular access point to the Saco River. Enjoy skiing, skating, fishing, canoeing & kayaking. FMY offers use of snowshoes for a minimal fee to all guests but you need to call to reserve due to limited availability.
Don’t forget your mountain bike or road bike. Fryeburg just completed a 4 mile paved stretch of the Mountain Division Trail and nearby there is lots of fabulous single track trails to chose from.
Want to go Swimming? ...just head into Fryeburg and
jump into the Saco River for a very refreshing dip, catch rays and play on the sandy beach. Don't forget to check out our
local farm stands. Sherman Farm is famous for its hormone free
milk in glass bottles—yummy flavors as well, such as blueberry, banana and orange etc. Also available, besides their fresh produce, is
natural beef, local cheeses, pre made meals, soups, pies, breads and you must grab a pumpkin whoopee pie for the road. From September to
Halloween—jump on their hayride and go pick your own pumpkins and gourds and then try to find your way through their famous Corn Maze.
Also visit Weston's Farm Stand which is located right along the
Saco River and also has tons of fresh veggies, local breads and goodies, their own maple syrup and a gift shop loaded with
items made in Maine. Need a little extra entertainment? Stone Mountain
Arts Center is a must right down the street here in Brownfield. This intimate timber frame music hall features
national acts up close and personal. Enjoy a fabulous meal and a superb show and then nestle back into the yurt. Or Come on up for Maine's
Blue Ribbon Classic the Fryeburg Fair which runs all week long in early October
every year and FMY is just down the road.
Don't have all the gear required for a traditional camping trip? Then Frost Mountain Yurts is the place to go since our
yurts are well equipped and you will always be warm, dry and bug free inside. Our yurts sleep 6 people comfortably on the 3 sets of bunks
which has 2 pull out futons on the bottom of 2 of the bunks. Our yurts have a full camp kitchen set up complete with dishware, cookware and
utensils, camp stove and plenty of fuel. There are gas grills out on the spacious decks with built in benches around or if you prefer—
just cook outside over the open fire pit. Fondue pots with forks and sterno are supplied so don't forget the cheese fondue and some nice
crusty bread. You will find fully stocked woodpiles for the outside firepit and for the woodstoves inside—you bring the popcorn and
marshmallows! In the warmer months you can enjoy the solar showers located at each yurt. Wild blueberries are abundant here in mid-summer
so bring your pancake mix—griddles are supplied in each yurt. Each yurt has its own private porta-potty and an additional unit at the
check-in area. We do not supply any drinking water but we do have plenty of utility water on hand for washing dishes etc. Inside our cozy
yurts are a variety of games to play. Stare at the starry skies through the clear dome while lounging comfortably in front of the wood stove.
Remember there is no electricity or running water—just the quiet woods which makes this truly an eco-friendly vacation.
A backcountry experience without having to go too far back. The trail leading to the yurts is a short walk into the
woods. We supply pack sleds by winter and a "Carts Vermont" wheeled cart by summer to assist you in bringing out your gear. Our guests
have come from all over the world from 8 weeks old to 80 something and everyone who has stayed at FMY has had an exceptional visit and continues
to come back time and time again. Our yurts are much more exciting than renting a cabin and this is the 'Cadillac of Camping' but even the hard
core love this place. There is no better spot to have quality time with your family or friends or just some quiet time by yourself. Come in and
put your feet up or go outside and play.
